The situation is exacerbated when considering specialist consultations, which tend to inflate overall costs. This not only questions the justification for exorbitant monthly medical aid premiums, such as R14000.00, but also underscores the urgent need for a reevaluation and modernization of the entire healthcare cost structure to better serve the interests of the patients and ensure a more equitable and efficient system
